Born and raised in Kherson, Ukraine, Alona moved to Kyiv to pursue her studies at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering. While her education gave her a strong technical foundation, she continued to expand her knowledge through additional courses and trainings, nurturing a long-standing passion for design.
From an early age, Alona loved drawing and spent several years studying at an art school. Her professional path began in graphic design at a small creative studio, where she quickly realized that web design offered a deeper blend of creativity and problem-solving. She later joined a web development company, gaining hands-on experience with technical workflows, UX thinking, and collaborating closely with developers. Her next role combined both visual and digital design as a Creative Director at a marketing agency, where she further developed her ability to lead projects, build cohesive brand experiences, and incorporate animations to elevate design concepts.
Alona joined Darien Group in 2022 and has been a dedicated member of the team ever since. Drawn to the company’s sophisticated design approach and specialization in the private equity sector, she was excited to contribute to work that merges creativity with strategic clarity.
Starting as a Web Designer and growing into a Senior Web Designer, Alona now focuses on wireframing, website design, prototyping, email design, and digital brand components. She also mentors new designers within the DG team, helping them navigate the foundational stages of their careers and develop a professional, detail-oriented approach to web design.
Over her time at the firm, Alona has contributed to a wide variety of projects – each unique, challenging, and rewarding in its own way. What she values most is investing herself fully into every engagement and seeing the final product resonate with clients. For her, the greatest reward is a project that both teams are proud of and a client who feels heard, supported, and delighted with the result.
Today, Alona lives in Kyiv with her husband and their two Sphynx cats, Bonya and Sonya. Outside of work, she gravitates toward anything that sparks creativity and movement – whether it’s crocheting delicate snowflakes for the Christmas tree, setting off on long drives with loud music in search of new adventures, exploring new places on foot, or spending cozy evenings at the cinema or around a table of board games with friends.
